Damariotimes – After being temporarily suspended during the month of Ramadan, the Kecak Dance attraction at Melasti Beach has now been reopened to the public starting Thursday. Previously held only on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, the performance is now held every day, offering tourists the opportunity to enjoy this unique Balinese cultural show daily.

Wayan Karnawa, the Manager of Melasti Beach, explained that the daily performances of Kecak Dance aim to welcome the growing number of foreign tourists arriving in Bali. He hopes that the show will provide an unforgettable experience for visitors.

During the 2023 Eid holiday, the number of tourists attending the Kecak Dance at Melasti Beach reached 300, although it is still far from the thousands expected. However, Karnawa is optimistic that visitor numbers will increase over time.

The ticket price to watch the Kecak Dance performance is IDR 150,000, applicable to both foreign and domestic tourists, including children and adults. The performance starts at 6:00 PM WITA and lasts until 6:45 PM WITA at the Praharsacitta Cultural Stage, Melasti Beach, Ungasan, Badung, Bali.

The attraction tells the story from the Ramayana epic, but with a special twist. I Made Suada, the Pangliman (traditional village leader) of Ungasan Village and also the coach and director of the Kecak Dance, explained that the performance integrates stunning lighting to create a more dramatic and unique atmosphere compared to other Kecak performances. Additionally, the story of Titi Situ Banda is also featured, inspired by the natural beauty around Melasti Beach.

The Kecak Dance at Melasti Beach involves local artists from Ungasan Village, who are divided into three groups, each consisting of five banjars. This effort helps involve the local community in developing art and preserving Bali’s cultural wisdom.

One of the main performers, I Wayan Karyana Adi Putra, who plays the character of Anoman, shared his experience as a dancer who has performed on various stages, including Jimbaran and Uluwatu. One of the most anticipated actions by the audience is when Anoman steps onto fire. Karyana emphasized that this act is real, not staged, and is performed with great bravery.

Additionally, the interaction between dancers and the audience is a key attraction. Karyana always approaches the audience, especially children, to offer a more personal experience. This interaction captures the attention of the audience, with some even requesting to take pictures with Anoman.

Putu Adi, the owner of Dreme Travel, which frequently brings tourists from India, revealed that Indian tourists are especially excited about the performance, as Hanoman is considered a protective deity in their culture.

With the Kecak Dance at Melasti Beach now being held every day, it is hoped that this performance will not only attract more tourists but also introduce Bali’s rich culture to the world, making it one of the most unforgettable tourist attractions in Bali.
