Damariotime, An interesting tradition carried out by Indonesian families in
America, especially in California, is the "Birthday". Like in
Indonesia, some families hold Western-style (American) birthdays. They decorate
the place, prepare a tart with number candles. They sing 'happy birthday' and
blow out the candles while making a wish.
Indonesian families in California who own private homes can often hold
birthday parties, whether for their parents, or children. The event is
specially prepared, and the event is very lively.
Before the Covid-19 pandemic hit the world, in this year, the Indonesian
community in America always held birthday parties by inviting friends and
relatives. Uniquely, at the event, the invited guests always wore
Hawaiian-style or Batik dresscodes, but they could also use Asian ethnic
nuances, such as Indian, Thai, or certain countries that have an exotic and
simple impression. The dresscode worn by the guests is usually at the request

limited space and parking space that can accommodate guest cars. However, if
they want to hold a birthday party, it can be held in a park, where there is
usually an open space and a building like a joglo.

usually schedule recreational activities (no ono bosene). The common habit of
American families is to go on vacation to establish social closeness with their
families, and also avoid stress.
